Evan has provided sound mind and rudder within the maritime industry and marine insurance sector for over 20 years. Upon graduation from Bentley University he worked as a Commercial Marine Insurance Underwriter for One80 Intermediaries holding authority with NAS / Swiss Re, Marine Program Underwriter for Gallagher holding authority with Great American Insurance, Senior Yacht Underwriter for CHUBB Insurance and Director of Boat Underwriting for Insurtech companies. Evan's marine portfolio includes a great diversity of commercial and recreational risks: boats, yachts, charter vessels, marinas, boat builders, marine contractors, cargo, stevedoring as well as inland marine exposures. He is a graduate of Navtech and is an Accredited Master Marine Surveyor (AMMS), recognized by the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU). Evan also completed Swiss Re Academy's Marine program in Zurich focused around: yacht insurance, cargo inspection, hull underwriting, P&I coverage, maritime law along with AIMU's ocean and inland marine courses. Evan currently serves as an advisor to corporate insurance clients on marine underwriting best practice. In addition to his marine experience Evan has held other analytics and project management roles within corporate America for insurance companies such as Liberty Mutual and American Family.
Nowadays, Evan remains an avid waterman who enjoys sailing, surfing and coastal sea kayaking. Evan and his wife are members at Kittery Point Yacht Club and longtime residents of Portsmouth, NH with roots that date 4 generations to Portland Maine's waterfront. He has logged thousands of nautical miles aboard a diverse fleet of vessels. As a New Englander embedded with Greek Shipping heritage he does not allow the change of seasons or adverse weather to prevent good times on the water. It is not uncommon to see Evan campaigning a Cape Cod Frosty sailing dinghy throughout the Winter months.
