
Evan has provided sound mind and rudder within the maritime industry for over 20 years. Upon graduation from Bentley University he reviewed and approved marine surveys as well as underwrote insurance contracts on a diverse fleet of vessels employed in a variety of roles: Commercial Marine Underwriter with One80 Intermediaries (NAS / Swiss Re paper), Marine Program Underwriter with Gallagher (Great American paper), Senior Yacht Underwriter with Chubb Insurance and Director of Boat Underwriting for Insurtech companies. His portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of commercial and recreational risks: boats, yachts, charter vessels, marinas, boat builders, marine contractors, cargo, stevedoring as well as inland marine exposures. Evan is a graduate of Navtech and an Accredited Master Marine Surveyor (AMMS) recognized by the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU). He also completed Swiss Re Academy's Marine program in Zurich focused around: yachts, cargo inspection, commercial hull, marine liability (P&I) and maritime law along with AIMU's ocean and inland marine courses. Evan currently serves as an advisor to corporate insurance clients on marine underwriting best practice. In addition to his marine experience Evan has held other roles within corporate America for companies such as Liberty Mutual and American Family Insurance.
Nowadays, Evan remains an avid waterman who has logged thousands of nautical miles sailing, surfing and coastal sea kayaking. He and his wife are members at Kittery Point Yacht Club and longtime residents of Portsmouth, NH with roots that date 4 generations to Portland Maine's waterfront. As a New Englander of Greek Shipping heritage he does not allow change of season or adverse weather to prevent good times on the water campaigning a Cape Cod Frosty sailing dinghy throughout the Winter months.
